Gagik Chtchyan was born in 1967 in Gymri. In 1980-1984 he studied at the School of Fine Arts named after Merkurov in Gyumri. In 1984-1989 he studied in the State College of Fine Arts after Panos Terlemezyan. In 1992 he settled in Moscow and then in the Czech Republic. He has participated in more than 100 group exhibitions and had about 2 dozen solo exhibitions in Armenia, Russia, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Ireland, Israel, Japan, Korea, USA and elsewhere. He has participated in a number of prestigious international fairs, such as ART Miami and Art Seoul.
