Silk scarf “Anahit“
45,900AMD
This scarf was inspired by goddess Anahit’s bronze statue’s preserved head.
During the Hellenistic period, the symbol of motherhood was the goddess Anahit. She was the goddess of fertility, productivity, and childbirth. Anahit is considered one of the principal deities of the Armenian pantheon. A manifestation of the worship of the Armenian goddess Anahit is the bronze statue’s preserved head and hand, found in 1872 near the village of Yeriza, the main center of Anahit’s worship in ancient Armenia. These relics are currently housed in the British Museum.
The scarf was created in collaboration with the British Museum and the History Museum of Armenia.
